PALMVIEW, Texas (CBS/AP) President Barack Obama's approval rating may be hovering in the 50 percent range, but that doesn't mean America's Commander-in-Chief isn’t catching on with new constituents.

There is now a line of Ecstasy pills made in the image of the 44th president of the United States, according to Texas police who have snatched a batch off the streets.

Ecstasy is known for a sense of elation, diminished feelings of fear and anxiety, and ability to induce a sense of intimacy with others.

Perhaps a good Election Day strategy to get out the vote?

A stash of the brightly colored tablets was found Monday during a south Texas traffic stop.

Police in Palmview detained a driver after finding black tar heroin, cocaine, marijuana and several Ecstasy pills in the back of his car.

The drugs look like a "vitamin for kids," police spokesman Lenny Sanchez said.

Police say that other Ecstasy pills they found were made to look like the cartoon characters Homer Simpson and the Smurfs.

The 22-year-old driver is expected to face felony drug possession counts.

Palmview is near the border with Mexico.

No word on the driver's political affiliation.

This might top the Obama condoms.

RNC Under Fire For Racist Obama Picture

The Republican National Committee's Facebook page raised eyebrows after a racist picture appeared on the group's fan page. A “fan” of the committee posted a picture of President Obama eating a piece of fried chicken with a caption that reads:

“Miscegenation is a crime against American values. Repeal Loving v. Virginia.”

Being that pressure is coming down on Obama's health care plan we must get creative with our alternatives. Let's start here:

Teeth. They are such an integral part of our overall health and well-being. If there's a problem in the grill, it affects the way we eat, the way we laugh, the way we kiss...not to mention the physical damage bad teeth can impose on the rest of the body. Living in a society where almost all toothpastes are infused with "whitening" (what the hell is whitening, anyway??), where photoshop-happy photo editors artificially brighten celebrity smiles and where coined terms such as "meth mouth" exist - there is a lot of pressure to keep them pearlies white.

Our teeth aren't frozen in time while we await the outcome of healthcare reform in the US. How many out there by a show of hands do not have full dental health coverage?

CNN is Getting On My Last Nerve

It’s very late at night but I need to ramble –

The universe does indeed work with symbols (we just have to look and listen)

The Big Picture symbols- Michael Jackson (MJ) & Obama

so

what’s tugging on my last nerve - journalists (TV - okay -
teleprompter readers and those that look ever-so-good, confident and
knowing-sort of) refer to the U.S. as now being in a "post racial" era
(ha!). Okay - maybe this works on paper but not in the minds and
hearts of people.

Talk-to-the-hand.

It's a bit like saying that apartheid (I refuse to capitalize the "A")
is over. Obviously, it still resides in the hearts and minds of
people ...and financial institutions. Slavery (and I mean this within
a U.S. and international context) is not over - it's just strutting a
haute couture mirage.

So about MJ & Obama...

...the symbols

Obama is said to be the symbol of post-racial America (who
decided this?) and now we have the icon of "racelessness" (MJ) die.
Stanley Crouch (back off - he is right on this one) said MJ wanted to
be neither Black or white but a Disney character - and MJ did indeed
look more and more like Peter Pan (the animated version - not the
Julia Roberts version - Ouch! that nose - Ouch - those tights bunched
up in the family jewels! ). But I am more comfortable with Peter Pan
than Clinton thinking he was the Black president or Chris Rock as the
Black president in the movie Head of State .

I argue that, yes, let's use MJ as what America looks like
- frail, needle-marked, can't sleep, longing, sad, pimped and
pimping, a use to be champ flat on its back. I am not buying into
post-race anything. And, MJ 's voice may still have been
pre-adolescent - but it's time
we shift from the falsetto and drop into alto and bass - we have
people alive who can talk about their great grand parents receiving
lashes on their backs while working on plantations, forced to build
railroads, forced into internment camps, figuring that being in prison
is better than going to college, figuring that suicide is better than
the rainbow. There is rhyme and reason to why Baldwin and Baker
were in France and Dubois was in Ghana - why we need the voices of
Patricia Mcfadden, Wole Soyinka and Nawal el Saadawi

Reasons why there is a secret list of Black atheists ...

so

as they say - if Jesus where alive he would need a PR agent - 'cause
it's a different world... but it ain’t a post-racial one. We are
going to need more than CNN and Obama's lineage to make the case –

White Men Judging Sotomayor

I find it absolutely absurd that in this Senate hearing made up of primarily white men that some of them still have the AUDACITY to question Sotomayor's judicial ability because of her statements (taken out of context) about being a Latino women. Here they are tossing around the term "protecting the tradition of this country" as if that same tradition is what has not kept people of color at a disadvantage for so long. Post racism society my ass. It's unfortunate that some of these white men can't see how NOT having ever experienced racism has flawed some of their decisions.

Sotoyomayor, an Urban Chameleon for as you see, honoring where you come from and getting ahead is such a balancing act.

President Obama's Fly Execution?... Seriously PETA

If you aren’t already aware President Obama killed a fly during a TV interview at the White House and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is calling it an execution.

An “execution” PETA? Really? Who here knows what it’s like to have a fly f*ck witchu? You know how it is no matter how many times you shoo that fly away and despite the fact that fly has an entire planet to fly around they still chose to keep f*cking witchu. I’m sorry but some flies deserve to be taken out especially the ones that won’t leave you the f*ck alone! That fly was not “innocent.” I love how animal rights groups try to act like animals are completely harmless, shit you pass through the jungle and see what happens. I even read a story about killer plants .

Was Obama out looking to execute a fly? No. The man was tying to deliver a message that effects the lives of people, yes people- remember us? And no fly should be above the law. I’m not saying that we don’t need an animal rights group but for a muthfreakin’ fly? Is that your 9-5 PETA? Cause if so yall are out here hustlin’ muthaf*ckas. You’ve gone too far PETA, you’ve gone too far.

On another note for those of us who can actually recognize the situation for what it was- have commended Obama for his “Ninja” (in the true sense of the word) skills. My man was on some Mr. Miyagi son tip with out the chopsticks.

My Cousin’s Opinion on Health Care (episode 2)

Today I gotta call from cousin who was heated.

“DENISE.” She says. “The mother fuckin’ Health Care system is flawed!”

“What happened now,” I said.

“Check this shit out. You know how I’ve been trying to apply for disability payments to help deal with this cancer right?”

“Right.”

“After all this time I’ve been waiting to hear back don’tchu know the mother fuckas turned me down today. And I’m thinking how the fuck is that possible? I’m at work part time ‘cause my ass has to be in chemo three times a week!? Not to mention the bitch in the cubicle next to me got full coverage disability wit no mother fuckin’ problems AND working from home and I can’t for the life of me figure out what the fuck her disability is. So today I was able to catch her ass finally, you know between my chemo schedule and her coming in once a week for her pay check ‘cause she manages to come in for dat, I calmly walk over to her to see how is it that she’s privy to these advantages ‘cause clearly I put down the wrong disability.”

“Well what she say?”

“Denise, guess what the fuck that Bitch's disability is?”

I paused, waiting for her to tell me.

“GUESS!!!”

“I have no idea. What?”

“She’s just fat. That bitch’s disability is that she’s a FAT FUCKIN’ BITCH! Here I am with cancer and that fat fucking bitch is sitting over there doing nothing but cookie up, cookie down and getting disability checks out her fat ass to buy more cookies and shit. Now what sense does that make? Oh Obama is about to get a letter about her ass.”
