It's s...SMH at this major white folk faux pas!

It's sad to say, but this is not an isolated incident. People stay violating these boundaries in the name of comedy or taking a jab at Political Correctness.

The real question is, why exactly do they still find this shit funny. How are watermelon and chicken jokes still relevant in 2010. Seriously, do better white folks.PhillySouledOuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03708902133696333244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-610937282836232507.post-11778061221418734232010-05-08T10:24:23.574-07:002010-05-08T10:24:23.574-07:00White people like to think they understand minorit...White people like to think they understand minorities, but they don't.
It;s one of the many aspects of culture they claim to have more knowledge/enthusiasm than they actually do. Other examples include classical music, indie music, classic films, environmentalism, and cars.Harperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01643789257418351642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-610937282836232507.post-74589102669140620852010-02-28T10:27:15.118-08:002010-02-28T10:27:15.118-08:00Funny..I found myself having the same conversation...Funny..I found myself having the same conversation with myself - wanting some white friends. And I've had several in my life..but for some REASON or another, they don't always seem to be lasting friendships.

Wow.

Watermelonisha? OR whatever the hell? I mean..even with the "inner Black woman" pass... there's still clearly a level of insensitivity. But this goes back to the idea of growth through discomfort.
I think a discussion about this exchange might do well for both parties. At the very least, it will help put these white people in line!Allihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08804592549637454528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-610937282836232507.post-80459251502323757382010-02-14T07:12:29.276-08:002010-02-14T07:12:29.276-08:00OMG, that is so crazy. Wow the girls were bold to tell you to look at it, but like you said they felt as if they were allowed to do it. Hopefully the next friends you try to meet won't cross that line. Thinking about it I have a few token white girlfriends, but they have never crossed that bright flashing red line.

Tiffany
http://liferequiresmorechocolate.blogspot.com/Tiffanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00095653554788017373noreply@blogger.com
